914 2.0 S

Hello Everyone

I found your site by accident and Decided Might as well join. I Have Played with 914's for years. Here Is a pic of my favorite, It Has Received a new engine Almost Every year for the last 8 years up last year unTill When It Was parked for body work, Which I hope to finally get done.

I just finished a 2633 build, and we are working Currently 2.8 ltr 3.2 ltr Type IV builds. I like to expermint with motors and my 73 is my test bed.

I don't know where you are from, but you seem to be an american.
This is the forum of the french Porsche 914 Club and you won't have a lot of people answering your questions in english.
It is also a small forum with about 400 members.

I suggest you visit and subscribe to the US forum http://914world.com
It has 10 000 registered users and it might be a better place for you to ask questions.

Yes an American, I live in Orange County California.

The translator works very well with the French language, and have been reading your site for several weeks before I finally registered. I would not be asking any questing, but could be helpful answering them.

I am aware of the US site's and others.

I found your site when I was doing a search for the Flat -8 and came across the article on the Prototype 914 -8 ( http://homepage.mac.com/d.fagan/porsche.html )

Here are a couple pics of a flat -8, I don't know if anyone here has seen these ? But this is an intrest of mine and was why I was doing the search on the flat -8.

The pics are from a gentleman named Frallan, but the motor was built by 2 gentleman from Sweden some time ago.

It was a 4.0 ltr at first then upgraded to a 5.6 ltr. It is 2 - 2.0 ltr Type lV motors welded together.

This is the kind of stuff that gets my interest and I find that a lot of people have the same interest. Here is the link to the post with more info about the motor:

The heads I believe were 1.8 ltr Type lV but have had the spark plugs relocated to the 914 2.0 ltr plug locations. And you can see that they also have been cut and welded together, and special valve covers were made.

And if you look closely you can see the steel plate underneath the cyl's, I think to help strengthen the case.
